What is browser security?
A secure browser is a web browser that has extra security features to protect its users from threat actors. These browsers are also known as “safe browsers” or “privacy browsers”. Browser security does much more than weed out obvious threats, however.
Why does browser security matter?
Browser security also allows visibility into the users window or work. It can track where a user has been, and it can be very helpful in determining where an issue originated or finding out if any malware was introduced along the way. It can block third-party trackers from following you around the internet, and it can hide a users IP address from the public.
How does browser security work?
A secured Browser uses encrypted connections that help to protect data exchange between a browser and a website. It can employ a “white list” to prevent any unauthorized programs from running. It can blocking phishing attempts and cookies tracking you from website to website, and many other subtle attempts from online monitors attempting to secretly collect information.
Why should browser security be employed?
In an age where privacy is increasingly attacked and malware is hidden in new and creative locations, securing yourself virtually becomes more and more of a necessity. EIT Networks is proud to partner with Atakama, our platform for browser security, to ensure that one of the most used applications on any computer, the browser, is protected and monitored day in and day out for our clients.
